Il futuro visto dal passato, il futuro nel passato. La parola steam” significa vapore, fonte energetica tipica della Rivoluzione industriale, gioca con anacronismi e tecnologie, immaginando “come sarebbe il passato se il futuro fosse accaduto prima”. La Londra vittoriana è l’ambientazione favorita dagli autori steampunk, che popolano la città di automobili a vapore e computer con tastiere in ottone e cuoio.
